Human Anatomy “Guts” T-Shirts
Human Anatomy “Guts” T-Shirts was the first wearable science fashion. As students study body systems, a human anatomy t-shirt with the organs screened on the front is painted and labeled. Students learn the organs and systems represented, how the systems interact with one another, and where each organ is located in the body. When the artist completes the project, the organ shirt becomes a "word bank" as part of the assessment. Students know the assessment is part of the project and they quiz each other over the function of each organ and common ailments as they create their masterpiece. Have a grade level "Human Body Olympics" for the culmination of the project.
I have included project organization and other resources for your review. Email HodgeScience@yahoo.com if you have any questions.

When I originally designed the project, students traced the organs on the shirts. Tracing the organs proved to be very time-consuming so I turned to Sportswear Graphics to pre-print the t-shirts with the outline. Thousands of "Guts" t-shirts later, Sportswear Graphics remains a trusted partner and the sole source for "Guts" shirts for $5 each. Learn more on ordering >
